As we wind down 2020, our next Racer Recap features Sam Elliott. His custom chassis is a work of art and took a beating on his way to winning the final freestyle competition of the season. Here are his thoughts on the 2020 Points Series and what’s in store for next year.
Name: Sam Elliott
Trucks: Hell Raiser
Sponsors: Bee Line Trucking, NorCal Performance Diesel.
What got you into R/C monster trucks?
Well, I think real life monster trucks are extremely bad ass, and I enjoy building scale RC’s, so when RCMT’s started coming back a few years ago, I figured I would try my hand at building one.
What was your biggest accomplishment this season?
Winning freestyle at the season finals.
What are you looking to improve on next season?
Definitely racing! Also, being more consistent in freestyle.
What are your thoughts on how the points series went this year?
I really enjoyed the events I made it to this year. I feel the events were run efficiently and fairly. The tracks were a lot of fun and challenging.
What are you planning on running next season?
I’ll be back in the MT class; I’ve learned a few things since building my first chassis and am planning on building at least one new chassis that will be running under the name of “Ragnarok”.
